BlueTier for Tech & SaaS

For tech and SaaS, pipeline is everything. BlueTier helps start conversations with the decision-makers and champions inside your target accounts.

How it works

How business development actually works in tech & saas

Technology buyers research privately and appear late, so the pipeline you can see is usually a fraction of the interest that exists. Being present in a target account before there is a requirement — known to the engineering lead, the ops manager and the person who will own the budget — is what converts a cold evaluation into a shortlist. Multi-threading across an account matters more than reaching one champion.

What that changes here

Buying groups in software routinely run to six or more people, so the Premium plan’s multiple ICPs exist for exactly this: run a distinct audience and message for the technical evaluator and the economic buyer rather than flattening them into one campaign.

Timing

What actually starts a conversation

Outreach lands when something has changed on the other side. These are the openings worth building a network around.

A funding round is announced

New capital converts a wish list into a budget within a quarter, and the hiring that follows creates the headcount problems tooling gets bought to solve. The window is short and widely contested.

Your champion changes company

The evaluator who liked you and lost the internal argument now has a new stack to influence and a mandate to change things. Rehiring a product they already trust is the fastest win available.

A first security or compliance hire

The arrival of a security lead means someone is now accountable for the questionnaire pile, the SOC 2 timeline and every tool that touches customer data. Whole categories become purchasable overnight.

Audience

Who you’ll reach

The audience is defined with you during setup, then built deliberately.

  • Decision-makers at target accounts
  • Champions and hands-on end users
  • Partners and integration prospects

Typical titles in the target audience:

  • VP of Engineering
  • Chief Technology Officer
  • Head of Revenue Operations
  • Director of Information Security
  • Chief Financial Officer

Targeting is set by role, seniority, geography, company size and your own stated niche — not by a generic list.

In practice

What that looks like in practice

Every plan starts from the same managed foundation.

Targeted network growth

Connection requests to tech and SaaS decision-makers who match the audience you approved — relevance first, never indiscriminate volume.

Approved outreach sequences

Messaging and follow-up built from your positioning during setup, approved by you before the campaign begins.

Account-aware activity pacing

Activity is paced to your account and campaign, and pauses when the platform signals a warning or restriction.

BlueTier Dashboard

Campaign status, network activity, connections, outreach, responses, conversations requiring attention, and performance reporting in one place.

Activity is individualized to each account and campaign. No specific volume, acceptance rate, response rate, lead count, or result is guaranteed.

Timeline

What a realistic timeline looks like

Software is the shortest cycle of the industries BlueTier serves and still the least forgiving. Conversations can open in weeks, but any deal behind them lands on a budget calendar you do not control: fiscal year ends, the December spend-it-or-lose-it window, and the January release of new numbers. Plan for connections in weeks, conversations that may develop by month two, and any purchase arriving whenever the buyer's finance calendar allows. Building the relationship in the quarter before the budget exists is the entire point.

Reality check

The objection you’ll hear

“Software buyers are drowning in outreach. Why would ours get read?”

Because volume is not the lever here. A connection accepted this month and a relevant reply three months later reads as a peer, not a sequence, and BlueTier is built to run at that pace rather than to blanket a list. The competing outreach is optimising for reply rate this week; you are not.

Plans

Which plan fits

Every plan starts from the same managed foundation. The tiers differ in what runs on top of it.

1

Professional — $89/mo

ICP and audience development, a targeted network-growth campaign, approved outreach sequences, account-aware activity pacing, and the BlueTier Dashboard with reporting. The right starting point for a single tech and SaaS practitioner.

2

Plus — $179/mo

Adds AI-assisted response and follow-up drafting for your review, conversation monitoring, scheduling assistance (Beta), and relationship-nurture support.

3

Premium — $299/mo

Adds the BlueTier Introduction Service (Pilot), multiple ICPs or campaigns, advanced reporting, and priority support — for teams working several tech and SaaS segments at once.

First month free. Payment method required at sign-up. Monthly billing begins after the free month unless canceled.

Activity is individualized to each account and campaign. No specific volume, acceptance rate, response rate, lead count, or result is guaranteed.

Questions

Questions tech & saas ask

We are pre-SOC 2. Does that kill the outreach?

No, but it shapes who you should be talking to. Without a report, enterprise security review becomes a long-form questionnaire and a call with someone's security team, which lengthens everything. Aiming at smaller and mid-market accounts while the audit runs, then re-pointing the campaign once you have the report, is the usual sequencing.

Is LinkedIn better than cold email for SaaS?

It is different, not better. Email reaches an inbox that has been trained to delete; a connection request creates a standing relationship that survives the moment you sent it, so the follow-up six weeks later is not cold. Most software teams run both, and use BlueTier for the relationship layer rather than the volume layer.

Our product is technical. Will the messaging get it wrong?

That is the risk in this field more than any other, which is why the positioning is taken from you during setup rather than generated from a category label. You approve the positioning, messaging and sequence before the campaign begins, and a technical founder who edits the first few sequences usually finds the rest need very little.
